Partner with SMECompare

SMECompare is an independent comparison site for UK businesses, comparing 136 providers across 13 business services on published prices. With our sister sites, MerchantCompare and SMBCompare, we cover Australia, the United Kingdom and the United States. We work with brands to build the independent pages their buyers are looking for.

Our comparison tables are ordered by arithmetic on published prices, and our picks are our own editorial judgement. No partner can pay to change either. We earn commission from many providers, often including a partner’s direct rivals, which is exactly why position is never for sale.

Why partner with us

  • Already cited where your buyers ask

Microsoft Copilot cites our comparison pages in its answers in all three of our markets. A page built here joins a site the engines already treat as a source. Current figures are in our media kit.

  • Built on verified prices

We compare 136 providers across 13 business services on this site alone, every price read from the provider’s own pricing page. Readers work out what each option would cost their business, not just what it advertises.

  • We see AI search from both sides

Because AI assistants cite our pages, the engines that report citations show us which questions they answered using them. We also put a fixed set of questions to the other assistants ourselves. We report the two separately, never blended, so you can check every figure.

What we offer

Audience, search and AI-citation figures for all three sites are in our media kit.

Why independence is the product

AI assistants and search engines lean on sources they can treat as independent. A page that reads as bought is a page they have less reason to cite, so the rules below protect the value of anything a partner funds as much as they protect our readers.

Every page a brand pays for says so above its headline. Affiliate commission is disclosed separately, and it never changes where a provider appears.

Never for sale, to anyone

  • Position in any comparison table, ranking or calculator result
  • A rating, score, badge or "best for" verdict, including on a page you fund
  • Removing, hiding or softening an accurate fact about any provider, your own included
  • Leaving a competitor out of a comparison it belongs in
  • Any promised number of citations, rankings, clicks or sales

Questions partners ask

The offer

What do you actually sell?

The production of new pages, research and calculators on subjects that matter to you, disclosed as a paid partnership. We also run affiliate programs with providers. Listings and data corrections are free.

Why fund pages on your site rather than publish on our own?

Buyers and AI assistants read a company’s own page as the company talking about itself. An independent page that compares you with the rest of the market on published prices is a source they can cite. We build that page, and we cannot make it favour you, which is exactly what makes it worth citing.

Does paying you change where we appear in your comparisons?

No. Comparison tables are ordered by arithmetic on published prices, and our picks are our own editorial judgement. We earn commission from many providers, often including your competitors, which is exactly why position is not for sale to any of them.

Can we buy a rating, badge or "best for" award?

No. We do not sell ratings, badges, awards or verdicts, including on a page you fund.

Can our competitors fund pages too?

Yes. The offer is open to any provider, which is part of why readers trust what we publish.

Can you leave out or soften an unflattering fact about our product?

No, not if it is accurate and published. If it is wrong, send us your published source and we correct it, free, whether or not you are a partner.

Do you work with brands that have no affiliate program with you?

Yes. Co-branded work and affiliate programs are separate, and neither affects where anyone appears.

Which affiliate networks do you work with?

We are an approved publisher on Impact, PartnerStack, Fintel Connect (United States), Awin and CJ, and we also work directly with in-house programs.

AI search and measurement

Will a co-branded page get us cited in ChatGPT, Copilot or Google’s AI answers?

Nobody can honestly promise that, and we do not. What we can say is that Microsoft Copilot already cites our comparison pages in all three of our markets, and the other assistants are tracked by our own sampling. New pages give the engines something independent to cite on your subject, and in our experience new pages take several weeks to start being cited.

Can you show us where we appear today?

Yes, before you commit. We look at which of our pages on your category the engines already cite, where you appear on them, and how the AI assistants answer your buyers’ questions today, and we share that in the proposal.

How do you measure AI-answer visibility?

Before the first page goes live we record a fixed set of questions put to the OpenAI, Anthropic and Google assistants, and we re-run exactly the same questions at fixed points afterwards. Where an engine publishes which of our pages it cited, we report that too. Each measurement is reported on its own, with its source and window, never blended into one number.

How soon will we see anything?

In our experience new pages start being cited after several weeks, and a fuller read takes around three months. We agree the measurement points with you before work starts.

What results have other partners had?

We only quote a figure we can show you at its source, and we do not publish a partner’s results without their permission. In a proposal we show you, with sources, how our existing pages in your category perform.

Working together

How is a paid page labelled?

Every page a brand pays for carries a "Paid partnership with" line above its headline, with a short note on what that means for the content. It is separate from our affiliate disclosure, which covers commission on clicks.

Who writes the content, and who has the final say?

We research and write everything. On our standard terms you check facts about your own product within five working days, after which the page publishes as drafted. The verdict, the rankings and what we say about other providers are ours.

Who owns the pages, and can we reuse them?

The pages are ours. They have no takedown date and are not removed when an agreement ends. You may quote and link to them in your own marketing, with attribution.

Which markets do you cover?

Australia, the United Kingdom and the United States, each on its own site with local prices. A project can cover one market or all three, and each market gets pages written for its own buyers rather than one page copied three times.

How long does a project take?

It depends on scope. We agree the date the first page goes live before work starts, and publish in batches after that.

Do you work with agencies?

Yes. We work with a brand’s content, SEO or partnerships agency, with the brand directly, or with both.

What do you need from us?

A contact, notes on the product and what you want covered, and someone to check facts about your product when each page is ready.

How big is your audience?

Our media kit has our current audience, search and AI-citation figures, across all three sites.

What does it cost?

Every project is scoped to the subjects and markets involved. Contact sales and we will come back with options.
