About Udemy

Udemy is a marketplace rather than a platform you host on. There is no fee to create or publish a course and no subscription at all, and in exchange it takes a share of each sale. That share depends entirely on who found the student: a much smaller cut when a buyer arrives through your own link, and a much larger one when Udemy's marketplace or advertising brings them.

That makes it a genuinely different proposition from everything else in this table. You are not renting software, you are trading margin for distribution.

Udemy was founded in 2010 and is headquartered in San Francisco, United States.

We may earn a commission when you click through to a provider. Any offer shown is the provider’s own, and we check each one before it appears. Neither ever affects ranking or data shown. Read our terms.
