Deel's HR product is Free up to 200 employees, and it charges per employee only above that allowance. So the exit is rarely about the HR subscription itself. It is about two other things.
The first is Employer of Record. EOR is a separate and far larger cost, at £448/emp/mo, and it is the product Deel is really built to sell. A business with an all-UK team is paying attention, and often money, to infrastructure it will never use.
The second is local depth. A UK employer has to file real time information to HMRC every pay run, auto-enrol staff into a workplace pension and re-enrol them every three years, and evidence a right to work check with a Home Office share code. Other options worth knowing
Three more platforms are worth a look but did not make the ranked list. Access PeopleHR is UK-built with an optional native payroll module and tiered per-employee pricing, a reasonable middle ground between Breathe's flat fee and Personio's quote.
