We track 10 accounting software providers in the United Kingdom: 10 with a published price and 0 quoting on request. Every price below comes from the vendor's own pricing page as our records stood on 2 Oct 2026, and this page will not be updated as those prices change.
How many accounting software providers publish a price?
A provider counts as publishing a price when its pricing page gives enough to estimate a monthly bill without contacting sales. One that shows a headline or starting rate and quotes for the rest is counted as quoting on request. On that test, 100% of this market can be priced without asking.

What does accounting software cost in the United Kingdom?
Estimated monthly bill at each business size in the table, from the same cost engine as our live comparison table. Providers that quote on request are left out; an unknown price is never counted as zero.

How we compiled this report
Prices come from vendors' own pricing pages only, never from review sites or directories, and no commercial relationship with a vendor changes a figure here. Definitions, limitations and corrections: how we compile these reports.
Conclusion
Of the four UK markets in this quarter's series, accounting software is the only one where every provider we track publishes a price: ten of ten, against 77% in payroll and 63% in both card machines and HR software. A sole trader can cost all ten without a sales call. Entry plans run from nothing to £20 a month, with a median of £13, and one provider's entry plan is free.
The table thins one row down. At small-team size (three users, five employees, 100 invoices) only four of the ten can be costed, at £19 to £52 a month with a median of £47.70. At growing-SMB size (ten users, twenty employees, 400 invoices) it is four again, at £19 to £86.75, median £59.75, about 4.6 times between cheapest and dearest. The other six publish a price, but not one we can cost for a business that size.
The plan ladder runs the same way. Mid plans cost £5 to £43 a month (median £24.95). Seven providers publish a top plan, at £33 to £165, the dearest five times the cheapest. A business that expects to hire is buying somewhere on that ladder rather than at the entry price, and on this quarter's figures the choice it will face at twenty employees is between four providers, at £19 to £86.75 a month.
