Pipedrive vs HubSpot: UK Pricing and Verdict (2026)

Whether a focused, cheaper sales pipeline with unlimited contacts or a free-to-start all-in-one platform that bundles marketing but caps contacts is the better fit for a UK business.

Pipedrive logo

Pipedrive at a glance

Pipedrive is the focused sales CRM. It is the cheaper of the two per seat, its pipeline management is the best in the category, and it puts no cap on the contacts you store. There is no free plan, email marketing is a paid add-on rather than bundled, and support runs business hours only, so it suits teams whose job is moving deals rather than running campaigns.

HubSpot logo

HubSpot at a glance

HubSpot is the all-in-one platform. It starts genuinely free for a small team and bundles email marketing and automation that Pipedrive charges extra for, with the larger integration library and round-the-clock support. It costs more per seat, and its paid Starter tier caps the contacts you can hold, so the bill grows with your database as well as your headcount.

Estimates based on £15,000/mo volume. Rates can change without notice, confirm current pricing with the provider before signing on.
How we calculate this
  • Estimated cost: each provider’s published prices and rates applied to the inputs you set above (such as volume, team size, or invoices), plus any fixed monthly fees.
  • Providers with an incomplete cost (shown as “+ processing” or “+ payroll”) and quote-only providers are never ranked as the cheapest while a complete-cost option exists.
  • These are estimates. Published rates can change and your final pricing depends on your business, so confirm current pricing with the provider before switching.

Pipedrive is the cheaper, sharper sales tool; HubSpot is the free-to-start platform that does considerably more than sell. That split decides this choice more reliably than any feature list. Pipedrive charges from the first month but costs less per seat and never bills you for holding more contacts. HubSpot costs nothing to begin with, then bills on two axes at once as your team and your database both grow.

Plans and pricing checked July 2026, and every figure below is read live from our pricing database.

Pricing and plans compared

On seats, Pipedrive is cheaper: £14/user/mo against HubSpot's £18/seat/mo. Across a team that difference compounds every month, and it is why Pipedrive wins most straight cost comparisons.

At the very bottom HubSpot wins outright, because its free tier is Yes (2 users, 1,000 contacts) where Pipedrive's is No. A sole trader or two-person team can run HubSpot indefinitely for nothing, and Pipedrive has no equivalent.

The axis most buyers miss is contacts. Pipedrive's contact limit is Unlimited, while HubSpot's paid Starter tier caps you at 25,000 (Starter). The two therefore bill on different things: Pipedrive on the people using it, HubSpot on the people using it and the people in it. A small sales team sitting on a large marketing list is exactly the case where HubSpot's cheaper start becomes the pricier option, and the calculator above shows where you fall.

Neither charges an onboarding fee and both are contract-free at entry, so the cost of choosing wrong is low.

Who each one is for

Pipedrive is for teams whose job is closing. A defined sales process, a working pipeline view, and no appetite to pay for product you will never open. It also suits any business holding a large contact database on a small team, because the size of that database never touches the bill.

HubSpot is for businesses that want sales and marketing in one system, or that need to start at zero cost. If you are moving off spreadsheets, expect to run campaigns as well as deals, and would rather have one platform than a stack of tools, the bundling justifies the higher seat price.

Pipeline and sales workflow

This is Pipedrive's home ground. Its pipeline management rates Yes (best-in-class) against HubSpot's Yes, and the difference is focus rather than raw capability. Pipedrive opens on deals and stages and nearly everything in the interface exists to move a deal forward. HubSpot's pipeline is good, but it sits inside a platform that also handles marketing, service and content.

Both cover custom fields, email tracking, reporting and a mobile app. Workflow automation is where the tiers diverge: Pipedrive's is Yes (Growth+) against HubSpot's Yes (Starter+), so HubSpot hands it over earlier.

Marketing, automation and integrations

Bundling decides this section. HubSpot's email marketing is Yes and its marketing automation is Yes (Starter+), whereas on Pipedrive email marketing is Add-on (Campaigns) and marketing automation arrives Growth+. If you need both jobs done, Pipedrive's cheaper seat is partly illusory, because you buy the add-on and the gap closes.

HubSpot's ecosystem is the larger, at 1,000+ integrations against Pipedrive's 400+. Both cover the accounting and email tools a UK small business actually runs, so this matters at the edges. Support is the sharper split: 24/7 chat on HubSpot against Business hours on Pipedrive.

AI and agent access

Both ship native AI: Pipedrive runs Native (AI Sales Assistant) and HubSpot runs Native + add-ons (Breeze). The forward-looking gap is agent access. HubSpot's is Native MCP (official, beta), so an AI assistant can query your CRM directly, where Pipedrive's runs Via 3rd-party (Zapier).

UK considerations

Data residency is the most consequential UK-specific point, and it lands in both platforms' favour. Pipedrive's hosting is EU hosting and HubSpot's is EU hosting, so CRM records for UK customers can sit inside the European Economic Area rather than crossing to the United States. That removes an international-transfer question you would otherwise have to answer under UK GDPR, though you remain the data controller and still need a lawful basis for processing and a route to honour access and erasure requests.

If you use the CRM to send marketing email, PECR applies on top of UK GDPR and requires prior consent for most electronic marketing to individuals. That falls harder on the HubSpot side of this comparison simply because HubSpot bundles the sending tools, so the consent and preference handling matters from day one rather than when you add a separate platform. Both bill UK customers in pounds, so there is no exchange rate to track.

Pros and cons for this matchup

Pipedrive wins on seat price, on unlimited contacts so a growing database never moves the bill, on the strongest pipeline tooling here, and on being a simpler tool for a team that only sells. It loses on having no free plan, on charging separately for email marketing, on a smaller integration library, on business-hours-only support, and on reaching AI agents only through third-party tools.

HubSpot wins on a genuinely free starting point, on bundled email marketing and automation, on the larger ecosystem, on round-the-clock support, and on native AI agent access. It loses on a higher seat price, on capping contacts at Starter so a growing list pushes you up the ladder, and on being a broader platform than a pure sales team needs.

The verdict

If selling is the job, choose Pipedrive. It costs less per seat, never charges for the size of your contact database, and gives you the better tool for working deals. For a sales-led UK business with a defined process, it is the more economical and more focused answer.

If you want sales and marketing on one platform, or you need to start at zero, choose HubSpot. The free tier is a real on-ramp rather than a trial, and the bundled marketing tools genuinely displace a separate spend. Keep an eye on the contact ceiling at Starter, because that is where the bill catches people out.

Frequently asked questions

Is Pipedrive or HubSpot cheaper?

It depends on whether you count seats or contacts. Pipedrive is cheaper per seat, so a sales team of five pays less on Pipedrive. But HubSpot starts free for a very small team, so at one or two users HubSpot can cost nothing where Pipedrive charges from day one. The picture reverses again as your database grows, because HubSpot's paid Starter tier caps the contacts you can store while Pipedrive does not cap them at all. Put your real seat count and contact count into the calculator on this page rather than comparing headline seat prices.

Does Pipedrive have a free plan?

No. Pipedrive offers a trial but no permanent free tier, so you pay from the first month. HubSpot does have a genuinely free CRM covering a small number of users and contacts, which is the main reason a new or very small business starts there. If spending nothing matters most right now that settles it, provided you understand the free tier's user and contact limits before you build your process around it.

Which is better for managing a sales pipeline?

Pipedrive, clearly. It was built as a pipeline tool first and the interface is organised around moving deals through stages, which is why it rates best in class on pipeline management in our comparison. HubSpot's pipeline is capable and will not hold a small sales team back, but it sits inside a much broader platform, so there is more product around it than a pure sales team needs. If your only job is working deals, Pipedrive is the more direct tool.

Where is my CRM data hosted, and does UK GDPR matter here?

Both Pipedrive and HubSpot offer EU hosting for UK and European customers, which keeps CRM records inside the European Economic Area and simplifies your UK GDPR position considerably compared with a US-only provider. You remain the data controller either way, so you still need a lawful basis for processing and a way to honour access and erasure requests, but the hosting location is one fewer transfer question to answer. Confirm the specific region on your own contract, because hosting is set at account level rather than being the same for every customer.

Do either of them lock you into a contract?

Neither does at the entry level. Both are month to month with no minimum seat count and no onboarding fee on their starting paid plans, so you can leave either without a penalty. That makes trialling both on real data low risk, and given how differently the two are shaped it is worth doing before you commit a team's workflow.
